FOOTBALL!!!

Football season is here!  Hooray!!  I love me some Tulsa football and can't wait to see how this season plays out.  Little Robert is even due on a bye week (I know, I know, it's doubtful he'll actually grace us with his presence on the actual due date, but I still like the idea that he respects the football schedule), so hopefully I don't miss too much this season.  I'm excited we'll be in town and able to actually go to the games now, too.  We didn't buy season tickets this year (for obvious reasons) but hopefully next year we will.  Tailgates, homecoming, fall and football make Jenni a happy girl!  And yes, when I watch football on TV I yell, clap and sometimes even throw in some spirit fingers.  You can take the girl out of the cheerleading uniform but you can't take the cheerleader out of the girl.

Happy Jenni at a football game!

Goodbye Dallas!

This past weekend we moved out of our home of 4 years :(  It was very sad and very tiring!  Crap we have a lot of stuff!  We did all the moving out ourselves, with the help of BJ's parents and his sister and bro-in-law.  We packed, loaded and moved our lives from our house in Dallas to BJ's parents garage and spare bedrooms.  We are so grateful that they are letting us stay with them until our new house closes in September!

I was not much help...being 7 months pregnant makes you a pretty terrible mover, so I went around and took a few pictures after the house was cleaned out.

The kitchen...oh how I'll miss this kitchen!
The living room, looking into the kitchen.  The living room was so nice and huge, and the opening into the kitchen REALLY opened up the space even more!  It was fantastic!
The view of the fireplace in the living room from the kitchen.  Again, the living room was huge and wonderful.
Master bathroom...we had granite put in at the beginning of the year, replacing the sweet faux marble seashell sinks circa 1977.

Master bedroom...I think I might paint our new bedroom this color because it was very soothing and bright :)

Empty master closet...it was a nice big closet for a house built in the 70s!

We waved goodbye to the house on Sunday morning around 9:30 a.m. and headed north to Oklahoma.  It was definitely a sad moment (there may have been a tear...or two).  We received our closing documents on Tuesday, signed them, had them notarized, and overnighted them back to Dallas yesterday.  Closing is happening today (Thursday) and so by the end of the day we will officially no longer be Dallas residents.  Pray that all goes well and funding happens as planned!

31 Week Update

Final picture at the house in Dallas...so sad!

How Far Along? 31 Weeks
Size of Baby?  15.2 to 16.7 inches long and anywhere from 2.5 to 3.8 lbs.  Fruit-wise, we're the size of a pinapple, though not as prickly.
Maternity Clothes?  Mostly maternity, and whatever is not already packed away.
Weight Gain?  Around 20 lbs I believe...the scale is buried in a box somewhere in the garage.
Gender?  Boy!  Robert Oscar
Sleep? Sleeping well!  When I wake up to go pee, it's hard to get out of bed, but I manage.
Food Cravings?  The M&Ms that are staring at me from the little candy dish in my in-laws house.  Darn you M&Ms.
What I Miss? Dairy without the pain of heartburn.  Sleeping on my belly or back.
Symptoms? Just the aforementioned heartburn and the constantly moving tummy...seriously...does this kid sleep??
Belly Button?  Out
Best Moment of the Week?  The sweet girls at my office threw me a little informal baby shower, complete with cute decorations and sweet treats!  It was so thoughtful of them and  I will miss them so much!  My last day of work was this past Friday, so now I am officially unemployeed in Oklahoma!  But there is PLENTY to do in preparation for the move to the new house (close should happen in September) and in preparation for the baby!

30 Week Update

How Far Along? Holy cow...30 weeks?!?!?!  ONLY 10 WEEKS TO GO?!?!?  So you're telling me I have 10 weeks to close on my house in Dallas & move out, buy a house in the Tulsa area & move in, get the nursery ready, and then have this kiddo?  No pressure, right?  :)

Size of Baby?  Almost 16 inches long and almost 3 lbs, so probably the size of some sort of squash.

Maternity Clothes?  Mostly maternity, and whatever is not already packed away.

Weight Gain?  Around 19 lbs I believe.

Gender?  Boy!  Robert Oscar

Sleep? I love sleep.  I am sleeping well, just getting up to pee in the night (thanks for that bladder kick, kiddo).

Food Cravings?  Nothing in particular.

What I Miss? Dairy without the pain of heartburn.  Sleeping on my belly or back.

Symptoms? Just the aforementioned heartburn!

Belly Button?  I’m gonna go ahead and call it an “outtie” now!

Best Moment of the Week?  Last weekend one of my super sweet friends threw a baby shower for me since I’m moving back to Tulsa soon!  That was pretty wonderful!  Rob-O is way loved already!

What's going on?

Soooo it's been a very exciting, tumultuous and stressful last few months!  Why, you may ask?  Well, for those of you who don't already know...we're moving back to Tulsa!!!!!!  Whaaaaaaat?!?!  Yes, it's true!!  We've always talked about moving back to Tulsa eventually (my parents live there, BJ's parents live there, we went to school there and love attending basketball and football games at our alma mater) and since we're having a kiddo, what better time to do so?  Things worked out w/ BJ's employment so that he was able to find something new to do in Tulsa (he's officially employed in Tulsa at this point) and quit his job in Dallas.  We put our house on the market at the very end of June (the 28th to be exact) and by the end of July we had a contract on it!  Woohoo!  As of Friday we're no longer in the option period, so now we just have to hope that the house appraises and all goes well with the closing.

We've been packing and looking for houses in Tulsa (we'll probably stay with parents until we find a house we like), and so basically I've been flying by the seat of my pants since June.  Weekend plans and such have been dependent upon house stuff, and now future plans are dependent upon more house stuff and moving.  I feel pretty useless because I can't really help too much with the packing (no one will let me lift anything!), but we're getting stuff together, slowly but surely!

I've informed my employer that I'll be moving, and I'm super bummed to leave them.  I've really loved every minute of my job at Merit...they've been great to me and I'm so appreciative of the work environment and learning opportunities that I have been able to experience there.  Plus, the people are amazing and I've made some great friends that will be very hard to leave!  I'm not going to look for a job right away when I go to Tulsa, and after the baby's born we'll just kind of play it by ear to see if I'm dying to get back to work or if I can't imagine leaving my baby for one moment.

So that's the scoop...we're moving back to Tulsa!  We'll be there soon!  Hope you're ready for us, T-town!!
You know you love us...

Pictures!

Since I've been bad and not posting pictures (or updates for that matter), here are a few for the curious...

25 Weeks

29 Weeks (and tired)
I feel huge.  I'm pretty sure I am huge.  I've been told that "it's all belly," but that doesn't make it feel like any less huge of a belly.  The kiddo has been elbowing, head butting and kneeing me a bunch, which is both cool and a little tiresome.  I love you too, Rob-O, now please stop rattling my rib cage, thanks.
